ARGYLE, TX • RESIDENTIAL
4,200 SF • CUSTOM RESIDENCE
A young family in Argyle approached Cadre with the desire to transform their existing 2,900 sf ranch-style home into a gardening and hosting opportunity for family and friends. The home sits on a 4-acre lot, with wonderful post oak tree coverage, a horse barn, and a large fenced area for livestock. The renovation includes a large, covered patio toward the horse barn, a fire pit, and a host of gardens dispersed in proximity to the house. The middle third of the home was demolished and replaced with a protruding kitchen, dining room, fire place and sunken living room.
The renovated living room features a west-facing sliding glass wall, with unobstructed views to the horse barn and pasture beyond. The covered patio enables the family to host guests inside and outside simultaneously and seamlessly. The existing garage was converted to a guest suite, including a bedroom, closet, bathroom, and laundry/utility room. The front door of the home is recessed and covered, with staggered concrete pavers and garden beds providing a path to the front door. The entire envelope of the home received sprayfoam insulation to increase thermal performance and maintain moderate indoor temperatures without overloading new condensing units.
